Follow the link above to the original file on Wikimedia Commons. Then you can magnify it supercalifragelisticexpialedociously: follow the link, click on the photo, click again to enlarge. (Question for the children: how many portraits of Freek are there in this picture?) Here's a detail of the magnification. Where is this jar and what's in it?

You are now on the doorstep of the first of the two main halls of the museum. They have a common theme. That theme is: Biodiversity.

What does that mean?

Hover over me for the answer It means variety of organisms.

The first of the two halls is called “HET NATUURTHEATER” The Virtual Theatre of Nature.
What do you think of when you think of the word theatre? Many answers may be given but the best answer is a show. What do we show in here? Again, many answers may be given but the best answer is a review of the biodiversity of the present. To say it in other words, the variety of plants and animals that are currently living on earth. So what is here to see?

On entering we become aware of a moderately lit room, with many showcases, stuffed animals, and lights embedded in the floor everywhere. Around the lights is a border with the name of an animal group, or animal species that can be found near that very light.

First of all we go to the small display case straight ahead. It contains three objects.

Go ahead!
