Edmontosaurus annectens(Marsh, 1892)

Edmontosaurus had a bigger head than Camarasaurus. Do you see teeth at te front? No, it had no incisors. At the front it had a kind of broad duckbill, with which it could ripp off tough, woody plant parts such as bark, pine cones and branches. The torn off plant parts were then passed through to the back of the mouth, where each jaw carried an impressive battery of theeth. These chewed the leaves and stems extensively. See th photo above. It shows the inside of the right lower jaw.

Look at its hip. What is the difference withe the hip of Camarasaurus? Compare the diagram with that of the CamarasaurusThe pubis also points downwards and bachkwards. It does however bear a protrusion forward. What would be the function?
